Baltimore Ravens wide-receiver Steve Smith has certainly left some broken hearts in Carolina after he was released from the Panthers four days ago, and signed with the Ravens a day later.

Many Panthers fans will be disappointed to see the 13-year veteran leave, but one in particular above others has shown his emotions for all to see.

That fan is young Gavin who was filmed by his farther as he cried at the prospect of a Panthers without Smith.

Not only did the video go viral, but Smith was made aware of it and met up with the fan concerned after making contact.

Smith is obviously still hurting after getting let go, and he took the opportunity to shame the Panthers in a heartbeat.

It was certainly nice for him to reach out to the kid, but reputation rewards for doing the good dead smack of an opportunistic publicity stunt.

Carolina had to make the tough decision to let him go. Fair play to them for assessing that his salary doesn't match his potential production.

Tweets such as the one below highlight Smith's continued frustration with the Panthers, something he needs to channel sooner rather than later.

"Want to contact this kid Check out "This Kid Is NOT Happy With The Carolina Panthers!" at."
