There was more than a few remarkable things about Liverpool's win against Manchester United yesterday. And we're not talking about David Moyes's tactics.

Not only did Liverpool secure their joint-biggest wining margin against the Red Devils thanks to their 3-0 win, but no team in the Sir Alex Ferguson era were ever awarded more than two penalties at Old Trafford - let alone the three Brendan Rodgers' side won yesterday.

Steven Gerrard slotted home twice from the spot and hit the post with his third effort from 12 yards. Luis Suarez completed the rout in a more conventional method, pouncing on a mis-hit shot from Daniel Sturridge to fire past David de Gea.

Plenty has been made over the years about referee's reluctance to award penalties against Manchester United so it certainly was surprising to see Mark Clattenburg hand Liverpool three spot-kicks.

Indeed, it got us thinking about some of the more peculiar games in Premier League history - so click through and take a look at the various games which have seen 12 minutes of extra time, first-half hat-trick heroes and plenty of penalties to boot....
