If reports are to be believed then the man at the top of the WWE tree, Vince McMahon, has confirmed that Mr. T will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.
First reported by TMZ, the legendary wrestler-turned actor will be this year's celebrity inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The reports quote owner McMahon as showing his excitement at the decision:
"His WWE appearances were instrumental in helping to establish WrestleMania as the pop-culture phenomenon it is today."
Mr T. used his profile to greatly enhance the exposure of WWE (WWF as it was then) and in competing with the likes of Hulk Hogan in the 1980s, was a key figure in increasing interest in the wrestling organization.
Indeed the A-team actor teamed up with Hogan in the inaugural WrestleMania and took part in several other events alongside his acting career.
As yet the WWE have not officially announced Mr. T's inclusion in this year's list but his name is expected to sit alongside Pete Rose, William Perry and Mike Tyson in the class of 2014.
The event will take place April 6 at Wrestlemania and the recently returned Hulk Hogan is favorite amongst the media to induct his former tag team partner.
