Boston Celtics guard, Rajon Rondo says that his team's defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night was his fault.
The Pelicans triumphed 121-120 after an overtime period but New Orleans star, Anthony Davis scored 40 points in the victory.
After the game, Rondo said: “We keep coming up short. I have to do a better job of finishing plays. I pretty much blame this on myself again.”
Rondo missed a year of action with an ACL injury but returned in January to a Celtics team without much star power after the departure of Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
The Celtics now lie in 12th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 22-45. It is expected that they will have a high pick in the upcoming NBA draft. In addition, the Celtics will also receive a number of picks because of the trades executed last summer.
Rondo had just six points in the defeat to the Pelicans on Sunday but did record 14 assists as Jeff Green scored 39.
Boston have just 15 more games to play until the end of the regular season.
