Liverpool are reported to harbour a desire to recruit Rodrigo from Benfica during the summer transfer window, with the club's management having been actively scouting the player. Arsenal have also been linked with Rodrigo, who has scored 10 goals this season.
Rodrigo found the net against Tottenham in a 3-1 victory for Benfica at White Hart Lane last week and, according to The Mirror, Liverpool are prepared to launch a £25 million bid in the hope of bringing the player to Anfield.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had been linked with a move to bring Rodrigo to the Emirates Stadium during the winter transfer period, but Liverpool are reported be confident they can clinch the signature of the forward given the strong contacts the club has in Portugal.
Liverpool endured a frustrating time indeed during the January window, failing in their respective pursuits of Mohamed Salah and Yevhen Konoplyanka, and Brendan Rodgers is expected to move for more attacking reinforcements at the next available opportunity.
It may be that Liverpool revive their interest in Konoplyanka, who remained with Dnipro, as well as push for a move for Rodrigo, 23, who has represented Spain up to under-23 level.
