The first game to finish from Thursday night was Milwaukee's trip to Indiana where they were edged out by the home town Pacers 101-96.
Valiant effort from the Bucks against the number one seed in the east but they couldn't beat the dominance inside shown by Roy Hibbert who racked up 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pacers to a hard-fought home victory.
In Miami, a masked LeBron James squared off against a visiting Carmelo Anthony and the reeling New York Knicks.
In a very one sided contest, the Miami fans experienced a reminder of what makes Dwyane Wade great as James and Anthony battled on one side of the court, Wade systematically took over offensively and the Knicks had no answer to Flash.
Playing Robin to LeBron's Batman, Wade and the Heat cruised their way to a 108-82 victory over the visiting Knicks which extends their win streak to six.
The final game of the evening was a late contest between the Brooklyn Nets and the Denver Nuggets in the Pepsi Center.
The Nuggets recorded just eight points in the first quarter as the Nets controlled the contest which became extremely one sided from the tip off.
