Juventus star Arturo Vidal has once again discussed rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United and Barcelona - but he’s not interested in either.
The Chilean international has been talked of as a €50m summer transfer target for United, Real Madrid and Barcelona. And while he admits it’s flattering to be linked with some of the world’s biggest clubs, his focus is on Juventus.
Speaking to Chilean newspaper Las Ultimas Noticas as reported by talkSPORT, Vidal said: “I live with my feet on the ground, I try not to think too much about the rumours, otherwise I would go mad.
“I think it is better to focus on training and getting ready for games at my best.
“Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United? It is nice to hear my name linked to Madrid, Barca or to Manchester United, but I think only about training, the rest we shall see about.
“Now I want to give everything for Juventus, because when one starts to dream, they move too far away from football.
“I want to stay focused and wear the shirt of Juventus.”
Despite the fact that Vidal recently agreed a contract extension with Juventus that should keep him at the club for another five seasons, the rumours linking him with a departure continue to linger.
United are the club with the greatest need in central midfield, and there’s no doubt Vidal would make a tremendous difference to a midfield unit that has struggled to impose itself in typical United fashion this season.
Moyes is expected to get a huge transfer budget for the upcoming summer, although the United boss may find it difficult to attract top tier targets like Vidal without the carrot of Champions League football.
United currently sit in seventh position in the Premier League table, 12 points behind City in fourth place, but their rivals have two games in hand.
