WWE star Sheamus paid tribute to Irish rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll, whose international career came to an end last Saturday, during last night’s Raw.
Sheamus, who was born in Dublin, entered the arena wearing an Ireland rugby shirt - before going on to defeat Titus O’Neil. It was a fitting tribute to O’Driscoll, the 35-year-old who bowed out as the most-capped player in rugby union history, following last weekend’s dramatic 22-20 victory over France at the Stade de France.
That result endured that Ireland were crowned Six Nations champions, and Sheamus celebrated his compatriot’s achievements by wearing an Irish jersey with the No. 13 on the back and the initials “B.O.D”.
Sheamus was, of course, also celebrating St Patrick’s Day - and he posted a photograph of himself in the Brian O’Driscoll shirt on his official Twitter account.
As well as bringing his international career to an end, O’Driscoll will also walk away from club rugby at the end of the season, having spent the last 15 years with Leinster.
