Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is optimistic injury-prone midfielder David Dunn will be able to resume playing in the next couple of weeks.

Dunn is due to see the specialist within the next seven days to find out if he can get the green light to resume his career after undergoing back surgery in February.

Bruce told PA Sport: "Dunny sees a specialist shortly and we hope he gets the go ahead. He is already doing all the pre-season work now. If he gets the go ahead, then he can start straight away playing because he has done all the hard work on the fitness side."
