Prince Charles jokingly mocks Manchester United

The Prince of Wales has heaped more misery on Manchester United by mocking a young fan who supports the club.

Prince Charles, who did not want to reveal which football team he supports, visited Chelsea Children’s Hospital earlier today where he met five-year-old Manchester United fan James Middlehurst.

James told the Prince who he supported and Charles subsequently joked: “Best not to mention that.”

Prince Charles’ comments come on the back of a dreadful first season for David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are currently seventh in the Premier League - having been spanked 3-0 by arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday - and are out of both domestic cup competitions.

They also look to be heading out of the Champions League unless they can somehow turnaround a 2-0 deficit against Greek side Olympiakos on Wednesday.

Moyes is said to have just three games to save his job - with tomorrow’s fixture and games with West Ham and Manchester City said to be his final chance to impress the Glazers and Manchester United’s board of directors.
