MLB in Australia - Time-lapse of Sydney Cricket Ground makeover

Published Add your comment

Major Leage Baseball has touched down in Australia this week.

As the Arizona Diamondbacks prepare to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers in the hyped 2014 MLB season opener preparations are well under way.

And as this amazing video shows, the venue for the encounter, the famous Sydney Cricket Ground is undergoing an extreme makeover in time for Saturday's game.

The timelapse footage reveals the work going in to ensuring everything is in perfect condition for the players - and having a diamond is definitely a requirement!

With the whole process sped up dramatically it looks like the easiest thing in the world but with the amount of gear, turf, people, and equipment involved we assume it took a little longer than the 1.07 video would have you believe.

The finished product does look immaculate though, and if the diamond looks like it could have been there for years!

The match up will begin at 4.am ET on March 22.
