New Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Golden Tate has answered critics of his choice to snub former team the Seattle Seahawks and called the offer they made him 'laughable'.
Earlier in the off-season, Tate had stated that he would be wiling to take a pay cut to remain with the Super Bowl champions.
However when he rejected their offer to join the Detroit Lions Seahawks fans were not best pleased and he suffered a lot of criticism from his former fans.
Tate claimed: "I'm going to earn in one year at Detroit what Seattle was going to pay me for two years.
"Seattle offered numbers that were laughable. I thought, 'I've given you everything and this is what you give me?'"
Speaking to KIRO-AM Seattle, the former Seahawks WR stated his main reason for leaving Seattle for the Motor City.
Tate will now play within an offense that focuses more on passing than rushing like the Seahawks did and will be in for a good season should he link up well with Quarterback Matt Stafford.
