The Los Angeles Lakers have been truly awful this season and Kobe Bryant is mad about it more than most.

But has the Lakers superstar taken things too far and actually called out the team for tanking this season.

In an interview on the Dan Patrick show earlier today, Kobe said to the show's host that he would be playing for the Lakers right now if they were actually good and in contention for a playoff spot and looking to go deep into the post-season.

The Lakers are 22-44 so far this season and a whopping 19 games behind the eight seed side in the East, the Memphis Grizzlies and 28 behind conference leaders San Antonio.

But could Kobe's revelation actually be proof that the Lakers are tanking?

Surely him coming back to the side, as he alludes that he is healthy and basketball ready, would improve Mike D'Antoni's team no end.

It seems however that the Lakers are happy being not very good in the hopes of getting a high pick in the talent stocked 2014 Draft which includes Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Julius Randle.

Later on in the interview Kobe also went on to say that the Lakers are so bad, President Obama could probably play some minutes at the moment without any detriment.

Bryant is fiercely competitive and hates losing, he's shown this by even trash talking his LA teammates, saying they aren't worthy of his company and conversation.

We all know that this is just what Kobe Bryant is like, he's brash and with an ego as big as his trophy collection, but has he finally gone too far and landed his team in hot water with the NBA?

Only time will tell.
