Manchester United and Chelsea appear to have been offered hope in their pursuit of Antoine Griezmann.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS cited by talkSPORT, Real Sociedad are plotting a move for Blackburn Rovers forward Ruben Rochina - a potential deal that, if successfully completed, could see Griezmann made available to suitors.
Rochina is currently on loan in La Liga with Rayo Vallecano and it is suggested that Sociedad - who recently witnessed the Spaniard's talents first hand after he notched a stunning winner against them at Anoeta Stadium last Monday - view him as a good option given his potential and his obvious lack of future at Ewood Park.
Such news would surely hand a boost to Manchester United and Chelsea, who have both been linked with £22 million-rated playmaker Griezmann in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old Frenchman, who made his senior international debut during the friendly victory against the Netherlands at the Stade de France last month, has been forging quite the exciting reputation for himself in Spain and has impressed with 15 goals in just 26 league appearances so far this season.
While Manchester United boss David Moyes bolstered his attacking unit with the purchase of Juan Mata from Chelsea in January, the defending Premier League champions have still not managed to arrest their alarming slump.
Providing he remains in the Old Trafford dugout long enough, Moyes is widely expected to invest heavily in new recruits this summer and it seems likely that no area of his ailing squad will be left without attention.
Chelsea, meanwhile, currently boast one of the best young attacking midfielders on the planet in the form of Eden Hazard but they obviously lost a player with a lot of influence in Mata and his replacement - former FC Basel starlet Mohamed Salah - is yet to truly impose himself at Stamford Bridge.
