Manchester City have been lauded this season for their splendid attacking play and they are favourites to take the Premier League title because of the firepower they possess.

One thing that has not been so impressive has been the performances of the back four, which have left a lot to be desired compared to previous seasons, especially those under Roberto Mancini. However, Zabaleta has stood out from his defensive partners with his performances, seemingly unaffected by the uncertainty that has gripped the rest at times.

The Argentina international patrols the right flank tirelessly for Manuel Pellegrini and which his defensive work has has never been in question, he has become more of a threat going forward.
