Watch: Incredible 3-D effect transforms NBA court

The Cleveland Cavaliers recently payed homage to former star Zydrunas Ilgauskas in retiring his jersey, and got creative in the process.

Using the latest 3-D projection technology they wowed the watching crowd (which included Ilgauskas' long-time friend LeBron James) as they transformed the Quicken Loans Arena court into what was in effect a giant movie screen.

Rather than simply paste pictures of the big man onto the court, the Cavs created a montage which made it looked like the court was breaking up in front of your eyes as well as introducing the night's starting line-up in pixilated perfection.

The company responsible for the effects masterclass, Quince Imaging, used a variety of effects, including making the court look like a giant game of tetris at times, and the end result is well worth a watch.
