3) Villanova make history
No one gave the Villanova Wildcats a hope in hell on the eve of the 1985 NCAA Tournament.
Coming in as no.8 seeds the team wasn't expected to get far, never mind win the whole thing.
But that is exactly what they did.
Defeating top seeds Michigan, and hotly tipped North Carolina on route to the championship game, it was Georgetown who were once again the victims to one of the most memorable March Madness moments ever.
Villanova put on an expert display of shooting to clinch the title (shooting 75% from the floor) - it remains the only time the school has won it all.
