2) Laettner redifines the buzzer-beater

Football News

In 1992 Duke were tipped to go back-to-back and win their second national championship in a row.

But, in the East Regional final, they came up against a Kentucky side who had other ideas.

With UK up by one with just over two seconds on the clock, the ball fell to star man Christian Laettner.

We all know what happened from there...

Faking one way before spinning back for a fade-away jumper Laettner cemented his place in March Madness history as he sent the ball sailing into the basket and Duke into the Final Four.

The ultimate buzzer-beater.

Many consider the game as a whole one of the greatest ever in college basketball.
