WWE superstar Rey Mysterio is on the verge of signing a new deal to extend his stay in wrestling, according to reports.
The 39-year-old, real name Oscar Gutierrez, has been rumoured to be weighing up the idea of retiring from wrestling.
However reports suggest Mysterio is now close to signing a contract extension - despite the fact he has been struggling with multiple injury problems in recent years.
Mysterio has been unable to regularly attend WWE events due to injury - but is still seen as an indispensable member to the network.
The popular Mexican-American will not be expected to compete in all the main WWE event, however the deal will see him appear in the ring sporadically during the course of his new contract.
The three-time world champion began working for WWE in 2002 after he gained experienced bu plying his trade in the ECW and then WCW.
News of Mysterio's decision to commit his future to WWE will be music to the ears of wrestling fans as he is a natural born entertainer.
