Atlanta Falcons bring in Devin Hester on three-year deal

Devin Hester is heading to the Atlanta Falcons, per reports.

The ex-Chicago Bears return man has agreed terms on three-year deal with the franchise according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

In seven years with the Chicago Bears he cemented his reputation as one of the most potent kick/punt returners in the NFL and will now likely take on the majority of returning duties in Atlanta.

He currently ranks eighth of all-time in kick return TD's, eighth in punt return yardage, and first in punt return TD's.

Despite his advanced age (he is 31) Hester will be a welcome addition to the Falcons special team and is coming off the back of a strong year -he led the league in return yardage in 2013.

In remains to be seen whether the Falcons will ever use Hester in a wide receiver spot but it certainly improves their options.

As yet further details on the deal are scarce but rumors earlier Thursday suggested the legendary returner was seeking $4 million a year.
