One of the big movers in NFL Free Agency is set to hand over some of that new cash to the police after being pulled over midway through a radio interview.

Steve Smith, who recently moved to the Baltimore Ravens, was conducting an interview with The Dan LeBatard show while he was driving.

Of course, talking on your cell phone while driving is prohibited in the United States and, as he was busy answering questions, Smith was promptly pulled over by an eagle-eyed police officer.

The five-time Pro Bowler put the interview on hold for a few minutes as he spoke to the officer before returning to explain what had just happened - making out that he got away without a ticket due:

"Hey, when you don't have any warrants or prior arrests it goes a long way with being a good citizen," he told the waiting interviewers.

Whether or not the former Carolina Panther got away with it, the whole episode definitely has to go down as one of the weirder interviews we've heard.

Smith recently signed a lucrative three-year $11.5 million deal with the Ravens after 13 years with the Ravens.

The police interruption kicks in around the 1.20 mark.
