New York Giants are ready to follow up their signing of prized cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with that of a veteran corner.
Former Chicago Bears defensive back Zack Bowman is said to be close to signing a deal with the Giants, according to multiple sources.
The Bears had recently re-signed veteran corners Tim Jennings and Charles Tillman, which meant that Bowman's future in the Windy city was always going to be in doubt.
Bowman maybe disappointed with his treatment after playing big for the Bears whilst Tillman was injured in 2013.
He finished the season strongly and that has led to an array of interest from potential NFL suitors.
The Giants are the major players for Bowman's signature, and it's understood that they are on the verge of tying him down to a one-year deal.
If ever there was a team that needed help in their secondary it would be the Giants, and he will act as a perfect foil for the recently acquired Rodgers-Cromartie.
