Montreal Canadiens Forward Brandon Prust has been ruled out for the rest of the regular season.
The team confirmed on Friday that Prust would be out for the rest of the season with an upper-body injury.
Prust has had several shoulder injuries before and it is not confirmed if this is another blow to his shoulder.
Having sat out of the Canadiens loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night, the announcement has come as little surprise to many fans.
Prust only returned to the Canadiens team on Mar 12 after he missed games following the resumption of the NHL season after the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic break.
Prust has played 52 games for Montreal this season and has six goals with 13 points but a team high 121 penalty minutes.
The Canadiens sit third in the Atlantic division and are just a mere three points ahead of the chasing Toronto Maple Leafs in the race for the final play-off wildcard spot.
