When Robert Lewandowski came out of Bayern's headquarters as their new player, questitons about Mario Mandzukic's place as the first striker of the club started to get in jeopardy.

In 2012, Bayern's first pick for the new striker was Olivier Giroud. The European Championship was being held at the moment, and they got amazed by another player's skills. Mario Mandzukic, ex- Wolfsburg player, scored 3 goals in 3 matches of the group, scoring twice against Ireland and once against Italy. And so he became their new player.

This Croatian holds 1st place of Bundesliga top goalscorers with 17 goals, while Lewandowski shares his second place with Adrian Ramos, by scoring 15 goals.

In his 92 caps for the Bavarians, "Mandzo" has scored exactly 50 goals. Lots of fans would agree that signing Lewandowski was a big mistake because the Croatian won't get much playing time.

When Pep Guardiola took over the club, he tried to approach the tactics the same way he did in Barcelona. His plans often didn't include Mandžukić, but every time he came on from the bench he proved that he is worth of the starting eleven.

At the moment, Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea are highly interested in buying him. Wenger could use an extra striker on  the way to his long time wanted trophy. On the other side, Mourinho shouldn't be making a move for him at time. Demba Ba, Torres and Eto'o are top class strikers, but they don't get much playing time as Mourinho plays only one of them in every match. And Mandzukic wouldn't like to get benched again.
