Manchester United manager David Moyes will target Bayern Munch star Toni Kroos after agreeing a £37m deal for William Carvalho, reports the Sunday People.
Moyes is looking to overhaul his Manchester United squad this summer and wants at least five major signings to arrive at Old Trafford this summer. Manchester United officials realise money must be spent to assure that they do not fall into an irreversible decline and have approved a £150m budget.
With the World Cup in Brazil set to bring the transfer window to a month-long halt, Moyes is keen to get the majority of his business done early. He started with the agreement to sign Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon before the Fifa tournament begins on June 12 for £37m.
The 21-year-old has become a major part of Sporting's season from midfield and is set to make his debut in a major tournament at the World Cup this summer. He is expected to be confirmed as Manchester United player before then.
Attentions now turn towards Bayern Munich midfielder Kroos, who is keen to move to Old Trafford despite the fact that Manchester United will most likely not compete in the Champions League next season.
Manchester United are ready to pay Kroos an incredible £250,000-a-week to leave the Allianz Arena; a figure Bayern have not come close to meeting in contract talks so far. Kroos' deal in Bavaria expires in the summer of 2015, leaving Bayern with little choice but to sell this summer if a decent offer comes in.
Buoyed by their deal for Carvalho, Manchester United move onto Kroos with confidence that they can sign the creative midfielder. They will then look to sign anew left-back with Luke Shaw and Fabio Coentrao both possible additions.
