Loic Remy will reject interest from Tottenham in order to seal a summer move to Arsenal, reports the Sunday People.
The French striker has impressed while on loan at Newcastle United this season, scoring 13 goals in the Premier League. Still contracted to Championship club Queens Park Rangers, Remy is expected to leave on a permanent basis regardless of whether they win promotion back to the Premier League.
Tottenham are reported to be among the most interested in sealing Remy's services while Newcastle are also keen to take him on a permanent basis once his loan deal expires. However, the player himself is hoping that Arsene Wenger comes calling and would jump at the chance to play under him at the Emirates Stadium.
French international Remy is said to be a big fan of compatriot Thierry Henry and wants to emulate his achievements with the Gunners. A source close to the player told the Sunday People: “If Arsenal want him that’s where he will go. Where else would be big fan of Thierry Henry want to go?”
Arsenal will be unlikely to match the £15m their north London rivals Tottenham are willing to pay QPR for Remy, but can offer the player bigger wages and, most likely, the chance to play Champions League football next season.
Remy wants his future sorted before leaving for the World Cup with France but is ready to wait to see if Arsenal come forward with a bid. Arsenal themselves are thought to be keen to sign as many as two established strikers this summer and have been linked with moves for Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and Bayern Munich's Mario Mandzukic.
The agent of Mandzukic was reported to have been in London last week to hold talks with Arsenal and Chelsea over a potential £25m summer transfer move.
