Manchester City may seem like the perfect team with all of the stars on their roster but some matches this season have proven too difficult for the Citizens.
Why that is is anyone's guess, but if they fail to win the Premier League they may well dip into the transfer market in the summer
With some players likely to depart these are the players Manchester City should target to strengthen their already impressive squad.
1. Diego Godin - Atletico Madrid
Godin has been a reliable and stable centre back in La Liga for numerous years and he has great anticipation and an ability to read the game. He is faster than most centre backs and besides the obvious with great heading, tackling, and marking, he also holds good passing ability.
2. Ignacio Camacho - Malaga
Camacho is a box-to-box midfielder who was groomed in the Atletico academy and he would serve as a compliment player for Yaya Toure and Fernandinho. He holds similar skills but is still not fully developed. He has a knack for scoring goals and he does not get lazy when it comes to the defensive side of the game.
3. Stefan Kiessling - Bayer Leverkusen
Kiessling is a target player, he would serve as a replacement in case Edin Dzeko should depart. He is much more reliable than Dzeko, usually scoring at least 16 goals in the league per season. His defensive work rate is outstanding but he should only be offered a two year deal because of his advancing age.
4. Jakub Błaszczykowski - Dortmund
The fast and hard working Polish winger who is happy to score goals and also create goal scoring opportunities as well. He would add pace, creativity and goals, as well as providing Jesus Navas with competition for places. The strikers he plays with definitely benefit from having "Kuba" in support.
5. Leighton Baines - Everton
The left back's qualities are obvious for any one who has seen Everton play. He is fast, he has a good shot, he is good defensively, and he is English. He would give Gael Clichy and Aleksander Kolarov some well needed competition and he would also give Yaya Toure a fight for who will take free kicks and penalties.
