Luis Suarez reached Anfield legend Robbie Fowler’s Premier League goal record this weekend and looks well on course to beat it.
The South American has had by far his best season at Liverpool and he has been the main reason they have challenged for the title. With his hat-trick against relegation-threatened Cardiff on Saturday, Suarez equalled Fowler's one-season record of 28 goals.
Suarez has had a lot of controversy at Liverpool - most notably the infamous bite of Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic. However, he has begun to mature and now he has adapted to the Premier League and stopped his diving, making him one of the best strikers in the world.
Statistically, he has been in better form than the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and has been compared to that duo a lot this season.
Suarez has been fantastic and even though I don’t believe Liverpool can win the Premier League this season, if their star striker remains at Liverpool - and his partnership with Daniel Sturridge continues to rise - the Reds will probably win it next year.
Although he had a a cagey start to life at Liverpool, manager Brendan Rodgers has finally got the team to play with his philosophy and it has worked greatly with the team performing better than ever.
