Arsenal midfielder Kim Kallstrom admits he was a bit "bewildered" to find himself at the Emirates Stadium on deadline day.
The Swedish international was a surprise addition on the final day of the winter transfer window, leaving him just as shocked to find himself an Arsenal player as the Gunners fans were when they found out about his arrival.
The 31-year-old is set to make his Arsenal debut on Tuesday evening against Swansea, a delay that was caused by a pre-existing injury that was mis-diagnosed during his medical.
His back problem, picked up playing beach soccer with friends in Abu Dhabi, was actually more serious than first thought. As a result, Kallstrom is only now fit enough to feature for the Gunners.
"[Deadline day] was bewildering to say the least," Kallstrom told Swedish newspaper Sport Expressen.
"It went by very quickly. Then, Arsenal have taken good care of me and my rehabilitation. Everything has been well controlled and I have received good care and rehabilitation."
And the former-Lyon player admitted he was a bit surprised to find out that Arsenal were even interested in signing him.
"I was [a bit surprised]," Kallstrom continued. "It wasn't something I had expected. Of course I was surprised. I've had a solid career [and] they needed that type of player."
Kallstrom could feature against the Swans with Arsenal struggling with injuries at the moment. Their weakness was exposed at the weekend, as they were thumped 6-0 at Stamford Bridge by Chelsea.
