Top 7: Most embarrassing Premier League hammerings (5)

Published 2 Comments

Arsenal 5-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Two times in recent ears has seen this scoreline emerge from the north London derby clash at Emirates Stadium, but the earlier of the two was the more embarrassing for Spurs.

This is because Louis Saha and Emmanuel Adebayor had given the away team a 2-0 lead in the first half and sent their fans into delirium. However, this Arsenal side were in the process of relocating their mettle in an up and down season.

A powerful Bacary Sagna header and a spectacular Robin van Persie striker had the match level at half time, but it was 16-minute second half blitz that took the game away from Harry Redknapp's team. Tomas Rosicky gave Arsenal the lead before a brace of fine Theo Walcott finishes made the points, and bragging rights, safe.
