Sri Lanka took control of Group Two following an emphatic nine-wicket victory over a hapless Netherlands in their T20 World Cup clash in Chittagong.
The Sri Lankan attack had too much firepower for a Netherlands batting line-up that simply looked completely out of their depth after being blown away for just 39 runs.
It was a reality check for the Dutch following their heroics in securing qualification for the Super 10's as only Tom Cooper reached double figures.
Angelo Mathews did all the initial damage taking 3/16, with spin wizard Ajantha Mendis, 3/12, and T20 specialist Lasith Malinga, 2/5, mopping up the remaining wickets with ease, setting up their second consecutive win of the tournament.
Sri Lanka needed just 24 minutes and five overs to complete the job. Kusal Perera the only wicket to fall when he was caught by Michael Swart off the bowling of Ahsan Malik for 14.
Tillakaratne Dishan and Mahela Jayawardene took the Asia Cup champions home and to the top of Group Two with four points.
Tomorrow's action sees Bangladesh do battle with defending champions the West Indies in a Group One encounter.
The West Indies lost their opening match to India by seven wickets and will be looking to get their campaign back on track against the hosts that will be featuring in their first Super 10 match since securing qualification.
