Premier League XI v El Clasico XI - Who wins? (9)

Published 54 Comments

CM: Eden Hazard v Luka Modric

The 2013/14 season has been characterised by a number of breathtaking attacking displays. Many such performances have been provided by Hazard, who has become one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League whilst drawing comparisons to the likes of Lionel Messi and Ronaldo.

Competing against him in this instance and just edging out a certain Andres Iniesta is former Tottenham star Modric.

The Croatian was heavily criticised for a number of indifferent displays in La Liga during his first season at the Bernabeu. However, this year he has truly turned things around and now commands respect as one of the first names on Carlo Ancelotti's team sheet.

Who wins?

We are cheating ever-so-slightly again here, with Hazard obviously typically playing far further forward than Modric.

While the importance of the two players to their respective teams is similar, Hazard is a special player who could, with the help of an improved goalscoring touch, go on to become one of the very best in the world.
