Blake Griffin takes on Michael Jordan's Space Jam role

No, this wasn't a casting call for the rumored 'Space Jam 2' but the 1996 classic movie did get a modern update recently thanks to two current NBA stars and a host of Hollywood names.

LA Clippers duo Deandre Jordan, and Blake Griffin joined the likes of Seth Green to take part in a live reading of the original script at the University of California - Berkely on Sunday night.

Reports suggest Griffin took on the role so expertly portrayed by Michael Jordan (he was playing himself after all) in the original movie, with suggestions that Deandre played the part of Charles Barkley.

As yet there is very little footage of the performance with reports claiming the full reading may well be scheduled to air on the acclaimed 'Funny or Die' sometime in the near future.

But the video above does provide a teaser as to the acting capabilities of Griffin.

Not exactly Oscar worthy but when you can dunk like Griffin can he deserves to be cut some slack.

With that kind of delivery maybe LeBron James has a rival to fill the big shoes left by Jordan should a sequel ever materialize.
