Jimmy Graham has the New Orleans Saints by the metaphorical bull horns.
For the past month, Jimmy Graham's contract has been the subject of much discussion and speculation as a long term deal has failed to materialise.
However a deadline has become public of April 22nd. On this date Jimmy Graham can file a grievance against the New Orleans Saints which could cost over $5 million for the team.
The simple explanation is the Graham has the right to question his designation as a tight-end for their franchise tag deal as his position is wide receiver, and it is a position he has been successfully played in.
The problem being that both parties could argue the case for the positions and the case could turn real messy, real quick.
The hope is that Graham will sign a contract before April 22, but if not, or if time is running out, the grievance filling is an ace up his sleeve.
Graham is one of the Saints' best players and having a legal dispute between the two would be very obviously detrimental to the franchise's and they players interests.
