Real Madrid are preparing a £25million bid for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The Daily Star believe the England number one is among the leading candidates to replace Iker Casillas at the end of the season.

Real Madrid legend Casillas could be allowed to leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season after falling behind Diego Lopez in the pecking order.

Reports suggest Carlo Ancelotti is looking to bring in a new goalkeeper in the summer as Lopez is yet to convince the Italian tactician that he is worthy of starting next season as the Spanish giants' number one.

Real Madrid have been linked with moves for Manchester United's David de Gea and Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois in recent months - however the aforementioned Premier League duo do not want to sell their prized assets.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, on the other hand, could consider cashing in on Hart if he is able to tempt Victor Valdes to the Camp Nou.

Valdes, who has stated his desire to leave Barcelona at the end of the season, is out of contract in the summer.
