If Arsenal wish to dismantle the philosophy of football Arsene Wenger has carefully crafted since his arrival in north London in 1996, then Sam Allardyce would only too happily be the wrecking ball to destroy the Frenchman’s good work.
Allardyce may get some slightly unfair criticism at times for his direct style of play, but there is no arguing that the West Ham boss and Wenger are polar opposites in their respective approaches to the game.
If some Hammers wear ready to tear up their season tickets following the appointment of Allardyce, then there would undoubtedly be a collective mutiny at the Emirates Stadium were Andy Carroll and Kevin Nolan leading the line in 2016.
