Total debt: $110million

When Fenway Sports Group purchased Liverpool from George Gillett and Tom Hicks in 2010, it was revealed that the former American owners' holding company was in debt by $573million.

The Premier League giants are in a significantly stronger position under the stewardship of John Henry and FSG, who also own and manage Major League Baseball team the Boston Red Sox.

Existing debts at the Anfield club remain, though, with the $110million owed equating to around 17 per cent of Liverpool's total value.
