Although it may not seem too long ago that the January transfer window was in full flow and managers were scrambling around frantically as the clock ticked down to the end of an eventful month, we can already observe the swarm of transfer rumours that typically accompany the last few weeks of a season.
In the Premier League, this summer's window could be a particularly vital one. With 20-time top-flight champions Manchester United expected to invest heavily in an attempt to revitalise a squad that has been horrendously below par since David Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson during the summer, all eyes will be on Old Trafford to see if the Scot is capable of securing the players needed to turn the club back into title contenders.
The eventual outcome of the 2013/14 title race - one of the closest we have witnessed for many years - should also have a huge impact on just how many big names are enticed to the Premier League this summer.
With all this talk of transfers, we thought we would take a quick look at eight of the most important deals that have been done in the Premier League since the turn of the millennium.
We have tried to angle this at the so-called 'bigger clubs' and please remember that these aren't necessarily the eight biggest transfers - just a few that we felt had significant repercussions for those particular clubs.
