With David Moyes expecting to overhaul his Manchester United side this summer, a number of first team regulars have been linked with moves away from the Theatre of Dreams.
And reports today have suggested that Patrice Evra and Darren Fletcher could be set to depart the club at the end of the campaign. If the reports are to be believed, Evra could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season, with United open to offers for Fletcher.
However it would be a mistake if Moyes lets the duo depart the club in the next transfer window.
Clearly the United boss has to make a number of changes to his under-performing squad, however he needs to keep some experienced heads around the place.
And Evra and Fletcher have won enough titles and have gained enough experience to show they deserve one more year at the club.
It's no secret that United are in the market for a new left-back. Moyes tried and failed to bring the likes of Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao to the club and now United have been linked with Southampton starlet Luke Shaw.
So, if United could bring the highly rated teenager to Old Trafford, then Evra could act as his mentor next season. The Frenchman's best days are now behind him, but he could still play a role in Manchester United's new era.
Evra has achieved so much at United, but should now give something back to the club. Moyes should opt to hand him one last deal and make him an important member of his squad next season.
And the Manchester United boss should keep Fletcher at the club, too. The Scottish international is Manchester United through-and-through and Moyes is going to need the likes of Fletcher around next season as the club head into a new direction.
Despite having missed many large parts of the past year or so with illness, Fletcher has recovered remarkably and still has something to offer on the pitch.
Like Evra, Fletcher is past his best but still has an assurance about his play. He put in a fine shift against West Ham this past weekend and should be used sparingly once again in the next campaign.
Fletcher and Evra have proved over many years that they're passionate Manchester United players and Moyes can't afford to rip the heart out of his side in just one summer.
They have enough about them to help the youngsters and new boys through and should remain at the Theatre of Dreams for another year.
