He may be on the road to recovery, but will Tony Romo be on the road to the playoffs?
Romo has been out since the end of last season after taking time off for back surgery, his second in as many years.
Last time around it took him until mid July to start coming back from the injury but this time, he's coming back a whole lot quicker.
Jerry Jones gave an update today with some good news, claiming that Romo is ahead of his recovery schedule for his injury.
He explained his current status as thus: "Can he do the throwing motion? Is he doing the throwing motion? Yes. Is he out there throwing to receivers right now? No. He is not throwing to receivers."
The teams offseason will start April 21st, way before the draft and way before the preseason. Meaning that the backup quarterbacks, whoever they are, will be getting the first hand experience of new offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.
The rate of injuries for Romo has to be a concern for what was an ageing Cowboys team with a large salary requirements.
This may be a make or break season for him, especially seeing how itchy Jerry Jones can be on the contract trigger finger.
