Arsenal's Premier League title hopes were effectively ended after being held to a 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Emirates last night, and Olivier Giroud was the man that took most of the brunt of one fan's frustration, who likened him to a "f**king lamppost up-front".
The backlash is unsurprising given that the Gunners were hammered 6-0 by Chelsea at the weekend, and failed to bounce back with a positive result on Tuesday evening that has left their season in tatters.
However, season ticket holder Claude - appearing on Arsenal Fan TV - tore into the France international, who has turned in a series of under-par performances for Arsene Wenger's side in recent weeks.
Giroud was recently disciplined for having a woman back to the club's team hotel the night before a match, and later came clean to his wife that he'd been 'playing away', which is believed to have had a negative impact on his Arsenal form.
Claude suggested that the 27-year-old was still "thinking about his tart at home", slamming Giroud's showing against Swansea, even though it was he that scored what looked like being the winning goal.
In truth, Arsenal did not play well for much of the night, and Wilfried Bony gave Garry Monk's side a deserved first-half lead. However, two quick-fire goals from Lukas Podolski and Giroud looked like snatching all three points for the Gunners, before Mathieu Flamini's last-minute own goal earned the Swans a share of the spoils.
"It would only have papered of the cracks if we had won tonight," said Claude in his Arsenal Fan TV interview. "The squad is not good enough.
"We sit in this lush stadium, we pay the highest f**king prices in the f**king Premiership, and what we got? A f**king lamppost up-front!
"I know he [Olivier Giroud] scored today, but there were times he didn't even make runs. He was standing there thinking about his tart at home! It's not good enough!"
