Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to go head-to-head with north London rivals Arsenal for the signature of highly-rated Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic.
According to talkSPORT, the Switzerland international has attracted admiring glances from the Premier League after a string of impressive performances in the Bundesliga this season.
Drmic has netted 11 goals in 23 games in 2013/14, which could earn him a big-money move to England when the transfer window reopens.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a long-term admirer of the 21-year-old, and wants to bring him to the Emirates Stadium to provide competition for Olivier Giroud in attack.
However, Arsenal could now face competition from Spurs who are also looking to add the player to their ranks, following a disappointing debut season for £26million summer signing Roberto Soldado at White Hart Lane.
Emmanuel Adebayor has rediscovered his best form under Tim Sherwood, but he requires more support, especially after the recent departure of Jermain Defoe, who left Tottenham to join Toronto last month.
Nurnberg might look to play the Premier League rivals off against each other, in a bid to gain as much money as possible for Drmic, should he leave Germany in the summer.
