Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target Roberto Firmino has ended speculation by signing a new contract with current sign Hoffenheim. 

The Brazilian playmaker has impressed a host of clubs with some impressive performances for the German outfit this season, with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool thought to be monitoring his progress.

The former Figueirense midfielder has had an impressive season, scoring 13 and producing 11 assists in 26 appearances. Firmino has also been tipped to make the Bundesliga team-of-the-year. 

But Firmino has ended all doubt shrouding his future by signing an extension that will see him stay in the Bundesliga until the summer of 2017, warding off any potential interest from Premier League suitors. 

And Firmino has spoken of his delight at signing a new deal with Hoffenheim. 

"I am really excited about being at Hoffenheim 1899. I really like the idea the club is after. We are playing a thrilling way and the team spirit among the squad is just great," he told the clubs' official website. 

Hoffenheim manager Markus Gisdol has also paid tribute to the club for resolving the player's future. 

"It's very good news for the club. My compliments to Alexander Rosen (Hoffenheim general manager) for working out this agreement. Firmino is an important player of our squad," he said.
