Basketball fans could win tickets to watch and meet British NBA star Luol Deng next season.
Courtesy of England Basketball, one lucky winner could win all-expenses paid travel, accommodation and spending money, plus tickets to see Deng in action for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Anyone wishing to be entered into the draw must complete the short You Are Basketball survey, which aims to find out about how and why people play basketball in the UK.
Deng, who grew up playing basketball in London and the USA, not only views the sport as a route to making a living, but as a positive and challenging activity for kids.
He said: “The sport of basketball is a pathway, a pathway that teaches so many valuable lessons on and off the court. It’s a sport that kids everywhere can relate to, and one that should be easily accessible when all you need is some concrete, two hoops and a ball!”
Huw Morgan, chief executive of England Basketball is determined to get young people more involved with the sport and provide ways to make it more easily accessible.
He declared: “It’s vital that we get closer to those that play the game, wherever that might be, and continue to nurture the next generation of stars.
"That’s why we’re using social media to take a more connected approach to listening to players of all ages in order to understand how we can make basketball more accessible to everyone.”
The survery, which can be accessed at www.youarebasketball.co.uk, aims to use the insight gained to help grow basketball in the UK and enable more young people to enjoy the sport.
