Quarterback Johnny Manziel held his own pro day at the Texas A&M practice facility and the hype it has created has never been seen before for an NFL prospect.
It has everyone talking from fans, the media and even NBA superstars like LeBron James.
Now its the turn of Kevin Durant to weigh in on the most talked about subject at this present time, the polarising Heisman winner that is Johnny Manziel.
Durant spoke with Sports Animal about the way Manziel has separated himself from other prospects: "I seen the beginning of Johnny Football’s pro day and I was really impressed that he threw in pads and a helmet. Everybody is throwing in shorts and a T-shirt and he wanted to take the challenge and do something different. You gotta applaud that."
The NBA's leading scorer went on to admit he is huge fan of the ex-Aggie and "wishes him the best" for his career in the NFL.
Asked how he would approach the situation as an NFL franchise, Durant responded: "“I would take him in the top five, if I was a GM. He might not be the tallest or the strongest, but he’s gonna go out there to play to win and give his all on every play.”
It seems Manziel has a lot of high powered friends backing his corner and has performed impressively well in the lead up to the NFL Draft.
All that is left to see is where the quarterback will be selected, will it be the number one selection or more shockingly perhaps not in the first round at all.
