Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Manchester City may have performed an illegal act if they have contacted full-back Bacary Sagna, reports talkSPORT.
Reports have suggested that the Citizens have offered the French international a three-year deal with the club.
Sagna runs out of contract at the Emirates at the end of this season and is free to speak with other clubs, however Wenger has insisted that City can't speak with the star.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, ahead of tomorrow's clash with Manchester City, Wenger told reporters: "That cannot be right and it would be illegal."
It remains to be seen as to whether Sagna will sign a new deal with Arsenal or move on in the summer, but for now the full-back will be focusing his attentions on this weekend's fixture.
Sagna looks set to start against the club reportedly interested in him, as the race for the Premier League title continues in north London.
Both sides will be desperate to secure all three points at the Emirates tomorrow evening, with Arsenal currently six points behind leaders Chelsea.
Manchester City will be hoping to pick up from where they left off after they secured a fine 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
