Gareth Bale - the world's most expensive footballer - has been blamed by Real Madrid fans for their side's recent slump.
Defeats to fierce rivals Barcelona and top-four chasing Sevilla have seen Madrid slip below Barca and Atletico Madrid into third place in La Liga.
The Welshman has been held accountable by the Real fans, according to a recent poll conducted by Spanish newspaper, Marca.
Bale was slated by Los Blancos supporters because he was off the pitch changing his boots when Sevilla broke and scored the winning goal in a 2-1 defeat for the former Spurs man's side.
The Spanish press have questioned the performances of world record breaker Bale on several occasions this season, but were particularly brutal after the Sevilla defeat.
Madrid-based paper AS said, "Bale ended his calamitous night when he decided to leave the pitch to change his boots, leaving the team with 10 and facilitating the attack of Sevilla down his flank to make the score 2-1."
The £86m man will hope for a turn in fortunes as he seeks to rekindle the fine which saw him attract the attention of Madrid in the first place. His Real side lie three points behind leaders Atletico, but have a game in hand.
