Tom Daley has reached two million fans on his official Facebook page, and celebrated by posting a short video message to his many supporters.

The popular diver is one of the most liked British athletes on Facebook and was quick than his legion of dedicated fans after reaching the landmark figure, while he promised some exciting news is on the horizon.

"I've just reached the two million mark on my Facebook page, so thank you to everyone that's been liking it,” Daley said. “I hope you enjoy the page and I should be posting some more fun stuff very soon - I've got some exciting news coming up, so watch out."

Last week Daley won a bronze medal at the INA/NVC Diving World Series in Beijing, which represented his first prominent professional achievement since switching his training base to London.

Daley left his Plymouth home to officially set-up in the capital two months ago, with the Olympic bronze medalist now training at the Aquatics Centre where he achieved his ambition at the summer games of 2012.

There has also been a change of coach for Daley, with Jane Figueiredo brought in since his move to Stratford, and the 19-year-old will be striving to improve on his showing at the London Olympics and win gold in Rio.

“Jane and I are going to be working hard to make sure I have a programme that gives me the best opportunity to win gold at Rio,” Daley told GiveMeSport in January.
