At the turn of the last decade, fans of the Premier League couldn't help but look back on the previous 10 years and reminisce about the wondrous footballers they had seen.
The team of the decade for the years 2000 to 2009 includes a vast number of Manchester United and Arsenal players including the likes of Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry. Naturally as these two teams came to dominate it was only natural for many of their players to make it on the list.
But from 2010 to the current day, competition for the Premier League has increased, thanks mainly to money from royal families and oligarchs. This season in particular has declared the title open to any one of five clubs and that trend looks set to continue for the next six years.
So, for the sake of variety, we'll begin to predict the team of the decade for the years 2000-2009 taking into account the best performers of the past four years as well as the stars who are set to shine in the coming seasons.
