Many WWE legends past and present have been asked to give their two-cents worth on the current situation concerning CM Punk, with Chris Jericho the latest star name to be prompted into sharing his thoughts.
Punk - real name Phillip Jack Brooks - was one of the most well-known and popular faces in the professional wrestling industry, yet disappeared from screens earlier this year. And Jericho - who left the WWE and returned on a couple of occasions during his own career - has insisted that the business goes on.
"No. I've never done that," the 43-year-old told Fox Sports.com after being asked if he had ever walked out on the company.
"When I felt the way that Punk did in '05, I just waited until my contract was done, and then I left for two-and-a-half years. I never walked out in the middle of a contract, nor would I. I'm not saying that it's a bad thing that Punk did because that's his decision.
"I don't know anything about it. I know as much as everyone else. The thing is, the wrestling business goes on. There's never been one guy who has ever left and caused the business to shut down. Hulk Hogan left. Bret Hart left. All these guys have left and guess what? They get replaced."
Chicago native Punk's apparent departure from the WWE has never quite been fully explained, with CEO Vince McMahon having previously commented that he was 'taking a sabbatical'.
Such confusion has led to his legions of fans not giving up hope of an imminent return to the ring, particularly with Wrestlemania XXX set to take place at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Lousiana next month.
